These are one-of-a-kind cups made from black stoneware clay and fired in a soda-fired kiln.
Soda firing is an alternative, atmospheric ceramic firing process in which, at high temperatures, a sodium bicarbonate blend is introduced into the kiln to create unique and highly variable surface effects on the wares. The interiors of these cups are fully glazed, while the exteriors are mostly left unglazed to amplify the effects of the soda firing and showcase the natural beauty of the black clay body.
All cups are food safe and dishwasher safe.
Each cup varies slightly in size and capacity. Approximate outside dimensions for each cup have been measured and are listed in the corresponding product listing.
